Sathankulam Taluka, with population of about 99 thousand is Thoothukkudi district's the 2nd least populous sub district, located in Thoothukkudi district of the state Tamil Nadu in India. There are 24 villages in the sub district, among them Padukkapathu is the most populous village with population of 7425 and Pidaneri is the least populous village with population of 725. Pudukulam is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 30 km2 and Komaneri is the smallest with 5 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Sathankulam Town Panchayat.
