Karur Taluka, with population of about 4.5 lakh is Karur district's the most populous sub district, located in Karur district of the state Tamil Nadu in India. There are 34 villages in the sub district, among them Kuppuchipalayam is the most populous village with population of 8087 and Thirumanilaiyur is the least populous village with population of 536. Mookanankurichi is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 39 km2 and N.Kadambankurichi is the smallest with 2 km2.

There are 12 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Karur, Inam Karur and Thanthoni Municipalities; Punjaipugalur, Puliyur, Uppidamangalam, Punjai Thottakurichi and TNPL Pugalur Town Panchayats Senapiratti, Andankoil East, Kadaparai and Minampalli-Pachamadevi Census Towns.
