Erode Taluka, with population of about 8.2 lakh is Erode district's the most populous sub district, located in Erode district of the state Tamil Nadu in India. There are 54 villages in the sub district, among them Pudur is the most populous village with population of about 16 thousand and Devakiammapuram is the least populous village with population of 176. Avalpoondurai is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 34 km2 and Pavalathampalayam is the smallest with 1 km2.

There are 24 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Erode Municipal Corporation; Veerappanchatiram, Kasipalayam (E), Periyasemur and Surampatti Municipalities; Suriyampalayam, Brahmana Periya Agraharam, Sivagiri, Kodumudi and Arachalur Town Panchayats (limited to 5 most populous) Mettunasuvanpalayam and Thindal Census Towns.
