Gokak Taluka, with population of about 6.1 lakh is Belgaum district's the 3rd most populous sub district, located in Belgaum district of the state Karnataka in India. There are 131 villages in the sub district, among them Naganur is the most populous village with population of about 16 thousand and Gaddiholi is the least populous village with population of 251. Yadwad is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 88 km2 and Konnur (Rural) is the smallest with 1 km2.
There are 4 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Gokak City Municipal Council; Mudalgi Town Municipal Council; Konnur Town Panchayat; and Gokak Falls Notified Area Council.

The sub district is home to about 6.1 lakh people, among them about 3.1 lakh (50%) are male and about 3 lakh (50%) are female. 79% of the whole population are from general caste, 11% are from schedule caste and 10% are schedule tribes.
