Kovvur Mandal, with population of about 1.1 lakh is West Godavari district's the 9th most populous sub district, located in West Godavari district of the state Andhra Pradesh in India. There are 15 villages in the sub district, among them Dommeru is the most populous village with population of about 13 thousand and Decherla is the least populous village with population of 1139. Dommeru is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 16 km2 and Chidipi is the smallest with 1 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Kovvur Municipality.

The sub district is home to about 1.1 lakh people, among them about 53 thousand (49%) are male and about 55 thousand (51%) are female. 74% of the whole population are from general caste, 25% are from schedule caste and 1% are schedule tribes.
