Kakinada (Rural) Mandal, with population of about 1.7 lakh is East Godavari district's the 3rd most populous sub district, located in East Godavari district of the state Andhra Pradesh in India. There are 8 villages in the sub district, among them Thammavaram is the most populous village with population of 9513 and Penumarthi is the least populous village with population of 1976. Thimmapuram is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 10 km2 and Kovvada is the smallest with 2 km2.
There are 4 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Kakinada Municipal Corporation and Out Growth; Ramanayyapeta, Suryaraopeta and Chidiga Census Towns.
