Khandwa Tahsil, with population of about 5.6 lakh is Khandwa (East Nimar) district's the most populous sub district, located in Khandwa (East Nimar) district of the state Madhya Pradesh in India. There are 221 villages in the sub district, among them Ahmadpur is the most populous village with population of 6759 and Bhil Khedi Murar is the least populous village with population of 13. Barud is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 29 km2 and Kamaliya is the smallest with 1 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Khandwa Municipal Corporation.
