Rishikesh Tahsil, with population of about 2.6 lakh is Dehradun district's the 4th least populous sub district, located in Dehradun district of the state Uttarakhand in India. There are 87 villages in the sub district, among them Hrishikesh is the most populous village with population of about 35 thousand and Thano Range is the least populous village with population of 9. Gadool is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 26 km2 and Thano is the smallest with 0 km2.

There are 7 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Rishikesh (NPP) Nagar Palika Parishad; Haripur Kalan (CT), Pratitnagar (CT), Kharak mafi (CT), Rishikesh (CT) and Gumaniwala (CT) Census Towns and Virbhadra IDPL (ITS) Industrial Township.
