Lachhiwala Range is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 77 km2 and Hatwalgaon is the smallest with 0 km2.

There are 11 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Dehradun (M.Corp + OG) and Dehradun (M.Corp) s; Dehradun (CB), Clement Town (CB) and Landaur (CB) Cantonment Boards; Raipur (CT), Natthan Pur (CT), Mehu Wala Mafi (CT) and Natthuwa Wala (CT) Census Towns; Mussoorie (NPP) Nagar Palika Parishad; and Doiwala (NP) Nagar Panchayat.
