Samba District, with population of about 3.2 lakh is Jammu & Kashmir's the 8th least populous district, located in the state Jammu & Kashmir in India. Total geographical area of Samba district is 904 km2 and it is the 5th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 353 persons per km2. There is only one sub district in this district which is Samba and the population of Samba is about 3.2 lakh.

There are 4 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Bari Brahamana (MC), Samba (MC), Vijay Pur (MC) and Ramgarh (MC) Municipal Committees.

The district is home to about 3.2 lakh people, among them about 1.7 lakh (53%) are male and about 1.5 lakh (47%) are female. 66% of the whole population are from general caste, 29% are from schedule caste and 6% are schedule tribes.
