Jalna District, with population of about 19.6 lakh is Maharashtra's the 13th least populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Jalna district is 7718 km2 and it is the 17th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 254 persons per km2. There are 8 sub districts in the district, among them Jalna is the most populous sub district with population of about 5.2 lakh and Badnapur is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.5 lakh.

There are 4 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Jalna, Partur, Ambad and Bhokardan Municipal Councils.

The district is home to about 19.6 lakh people, among them about 10.1 lakh (52%) are male and about 9.5 lakh (48%) are female. 84% of the whole population are from general caste, 14% are from schedule caste and 2% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Jalna district is 15%, among them 53% are boys and 47% are girls.
