Dhule District, with population of about 20.5 lakh is Maharashtra's the 14th least populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Dhule district is 7195 km2 and it is the 14th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 285 persons per km2. There are 4 sub districts in the district, among them Dhule is the most populous sub district with population of about 8.4 lakh and Sindkhede is the least populous sub district with population of about 3.2 lakh.

There are 3 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Dhule Municipal Corporation; Shirpur-Warwade and Dondaicha-Warwade Municipal Councils.

The district is home to about 20.5 lakh people, among them about 10.5 lakh (51%) are male and about 10 lakh (49%) are female. 62% of the whole population are from general caste, 6% are from schedule caste and 32% are schedule tribes.
