Ratlam District, with population of about 14.6 lakh is Madhya Pradesh's the 22nd most populous district, located in the state Madhya Pradesh in India. Total geographical area of Ratlam district is 4861 km2 and it is the 15th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 299 persons per km2. There are 8 sub districts in the district, among them Ratlam is the most populous sub district with population of about 5.6 lakh and Bajna is the least populous sub district with population of about 80 thousand.

There are 3 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Ratlam Municipal Corporation; Jaora Municipality and Out Growth; and Jaora Municipality.

The district is home to about 14.6 lakh people, among them about 7.4 lakh (51%) are male and about 7.2 lakh (49%) are female. 58% of the whole population are from general caste, 14% are from schedule caste and 28% are schedule tribes.
