North Twenty Four Parganas District, with population of about 1 crore is West Bengal's the most populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of North Twenty Four Parganas district is 4094 km2 and it is the 10th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 2445 persons per km2. There are 22 sub districts in the district, among them Bongaon is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.8 lakh and Sandeshkhali - II is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.6 lakh.

There are 29 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - South DumDum, Rajarhat Gopalpur, Bhatpara, Panihati and Kamarhati Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous) Bhatpara and Kanchrapara Municipality and Out Growths.
