Barddhaman District, with population of about 52.8 lakh is West Bengal's the 6th most populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Barddhaman district is 7024 km2 and it is the 3rd biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 752 persons per km2. There are 25 sub districts in the district, among them Jamalpur is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.7 lakh and Ketugram - II is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.2 lakh.
