Murshidabad District, with population of about 71 lakh is West Bengal's the 3rd most populous district, located in the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Murshidabad district is 5324 km2 and it is the 7th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 1334 persons per km2. There are 26 sub districts in the district, among them Berhampore is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.5 lakh and Bhagawangola - II is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.6 lakh.
