Total geographical area of Mirzapur district is 4405 km2 and it is the 17th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 567 persons per km2. There are 4 sub districts in the district, among them Mirzapur is the most populous sub district with population of about 11.8 lakh and Marihan is the least populous sub district with population of about 2.4 lakh.
