Punch District, with population of about 4.8 lakh is Jammu & Kashmir's the 12th least populous district, located in the state Jammu & Kashmir in India. Total geographical area of Punch district is 1674 km2 and it is the 10th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 285 persons per km2. There are 4 sub districts in the district, among them Mendhar is the most populous sub district with population of about 1.4 lakh and Mandi is the least populous sub district with population of about 78 thousand.

There are 2 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Punch (M Cl) Municipal Council; and Surankote (MC) Municipal Committee.
