Asansol Municipal Corporation, with population of about 5.6 lakh is Paschim Barddhaman district's the least populous municipal corporation located in Paschim Barddhaman district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Asansol municipal corporation is 125 km2 and it is the smallest city by area in the district. Population density of the city is 4503 persons per km2. There are 50 wards in the city, among them Asansol Ward No 28 is the most populous ward with population of about 33 thousand and Asansol Ward No 13 is the least populous ward with population of 3026.
