Alipurduar Municipality, with population of about 65 thousand is Alipurduar district's only municipality located in Alipurduar district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Alipurduar municipality is 10 km2. Population density of the city is 6670 persons per km2. There are 20 wards in the city, among them Alipurduar Ward No 09 is the most populous ward with population of 4746 and Alipurduar Ward No 17 is the least populous ward with population of 1562.
Alipurduar is the sub district head quarter of the city. District head quarter of the city is Jalpaiguri which is 120 km away. Kolkata is the state head quarter of the city and is 720 km far from here. Yearly average rainfall of the city is 3488 mm. Maximum temperature here reaches up to 38°C and minimum temperature goes down to 0.8°C.
