Madikeri Taluka, with population of about 1.5 lakh is Kodagu district's the least populous sub district, located in Kodagu district of the state Karnataka in India. There are 67 villages in the sub district, among them Karike is the most populous village with population of 4301 and Hammiyala is the least populous village with population of 348. Cherangala is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 101 km2 and Karnangeri is the smallest with 1 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Madikeri City Municipal Council.
