Sulya Taluka, with population of about 1.5 lakh is Dakshina Kannada district's the least populous sub district, located in Dakshina Kannada district of the state Karnataka in India. There are 40 villages in the sub district, among them Aletty is the most populous village with population of 8229 and Inakidu is the least populous village with population of 949. Aletty is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 66 km2 and Mupperia is the smallest with 5 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Sulya Town Panchayat.

Demographics

The sub district is home to about 1.5 lakh people, among them about 72 thousand (50%) are male and about 73 thousand (50%) are female. 78% of the whole population are from general caste, 14% are from schedule caste and 8% are schedule tribes.
