Udupi Taluka, with population of about 5.6 lakh is Udupi district's the most populous sub district, located in Udupi district of the state Karnataka in India. There are 86 villages in the sub district, among them Shirva is the most populous village with population of about 13 thousand and Bellarpadi is the least populous village with population of 867. Perdoor is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 45 km2 and Kote is the smallest with 2 km2.

There are 17 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Udupi City Municipal Council and Out Growth; Udupi City Municipal Council; Saligram Town Panchayat; Udyavara, Nadsal, Badagabettu (No.80), Bada and Tonse East Census Towns (limited to 5 most populous).
