Kundapura Taluka, with population of about 4 lakh is Udupi district's the 2nd least populous sub district, located in Udupi district of the state Karnataka in India. There are 98 villages in the sub district, among them Shiroor is the most populous village with population of about 17 thousand and Heskathoor is the least populous village with population of 980. Kollur is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 98 km2 and Nandanavana is the smallest with 1 km2.

There are 2 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Kundapura Town Municipal Council; and Koteshwar Census Town.
