Aurangabad Tahsil, with population of about 15.9 lakh is Aurangabad district's the most populous sub district, located in Aurangabad district of the state Maharashtra in India. There are 173 villages in the sub district, among them Tisgaon is the most populous village with population of about 13 thousand and Malharpur is the least populous village with population of 12. Golatgaon is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 30 km2 and Malharpur is the smallest with 1 km2.

There are 5 cities in the sub district which comes under the sub district administration, those are - Aurangabad Municipal Corporation; Wadgaon Kolhati, Satara and Pandharpur Census Towns and Aurangabad Cantonment Board.
