Ujjain Tahsil, with population of about 6.7 lakh is Ujjain district's the most populous sub district, located in Ujjain district of the state Madhya Pradesh in India. There are 131 villages in the sub district, among them Tajpur is the most populous village with population of 7789 and Chakjai Rampur is the least populous village with population of 95. Narwar is the biggest village in the sub district with an area of 24 km2 and Dewankhedi is the smallest with 1 km2.

There is only one city in the sub district that comes under the sub district administration which is Ujjain Municipal Corporation.

The sub district is home to about 6.7 lakh people, among them about 3.4 lakh (51%) are male and about 3.3 lakh (49%) are female. 75% of the whole population are from general caste, 24% are from schedule caste and 2% are schedule tribes.
