Ajmer District, with population of about 25.8 lakh is Rajasthan's the 8th most populous district, located in the state Rajasthan in India. Total geographical area of Ajmer district is 8481 km2 and it is the 14th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 305 persons per km2. There are 9 sub districts in the district, among them Ajmer is the most populous sub district with population of about 8 lakh and Bhinay is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.3 lakh.

There are 8 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Ajmer Municipal Corporation; Kishangarh and Beawar Municipal Councils; Beawar Municipal Council and Out Growth; Kekri, Vijainagar, Pushkar and Sarwar Municipalities.

Demographics

The district is home to about 25.8 lakh people, among them about 13.2 lakh (51%) are male and about 12.6 lakh (49%) are female. 79% of the whole population are from general caste, 19% are from schedule caste and 2% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Ajmer district is 15%, among them 53% are boys and 47% are girls. There are about 4.9 lakh households in the district and an average 5 persons live in every family.
