Churu District, with population of about 20.4 lakh is Rajasthan's the 13th most populous district, located in the state Rajasthan in India. Total geographical area of Churu district is about 14 thousand km2 and it is the 6th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 147 persons per km2. There are 6 sub districts in the district, among them Sujangarh is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.8 lakh and Taranagar is the least populous sub district with population of about 2.1 lakh.

There are 11 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Churu (M Cl + OG) Municipal Council and Out Growth; Churu (M Cl) Municipal Council; Sujangarh (M), Sardarshahar (M), Ratangarh (M), Rajgarh (M) and Bidasar (M) Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous).

Demographics

The district is home to about 20.4 lakh people, among them about 10.5 lakh (52%) are male and about 9.9 lakh (48%) are female. 77% of the whole population are from general caste, 22% are from schedule caste and 1% are schedule tribes.
