Total geographical area of Krishnagiri district is 5129 km2 and it is the 9th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 367 persons per km2. There are 5 sub districts in the district, among them Krishnagiri is the most populous sub district with population of about 6 lakh and Pochampalli is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.8 lakh.
