Total geographical area of Ganganagar district is about 11 thousand km2 and it is the 10th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 179 persons per km2. There are 9 sub districts in the district, among them Ganganagar is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.8 lakh and Vijainagar is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.5 lakh.
