Total geographical area of Yadgir district is 5270 km2 and it is the 13th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 223 persons per km2. There are 3 sub districts in the district, among them Shorapur is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.1 lakh and Shahpur is the least populous sub district with population of about 3.6 lakh.
