Chittoor District, with population of about 41.7 lakh is Andhra Pradesh's the 5th most populous district, located in the state Andhra Pradesh in India. Total geographical area of Chittoor district is about 15 thousand km2 and it is the 5th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 275 persons per km2. There are 66 sub districts in the district, among them Tirupati (Urban) is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.1 lakh and Palasamudram is the least populous sub district with population of about 24 thousand.

There are 12 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Tirupati Municipal Corporation and Out Growth; Tirupati Municipal Corporation; Madanapalle, Chittoor and Palamaner Municipality and Out Growths Chittoor, Madanapalle, Srikalahasti, Nagari and Punganur Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous).

The district is home to about 41.7 lakh people, among them about 20.9 lakh (50%) are male and about 20.8 lakh (50%) are female. 77% of the whole population are from general caste, 19% are from schedule caste and 4% are schedule tribes.
