Y.S.R. District, with population of about 28.8 lakh is Andhra Pradesh's the 3rd least populous district, located in the state Andhra Pradesh in India. Total geographical area of Y.S.R. district is about 15 thousand km2 and it is the 4th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 188 persons per km2. There are 51 sub districts in the district, among them Kadapa is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.2 lakh and B.Kodur is the least populous sub district with population of about 20 thousand.

There are 6 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Kadapa Municipal Corporation and Out Growth; Proddatur Municipality and Out Growth; Proddatur, Rayachoti, Badvel and Pulivendla Municipalities.

The district is home to about 28.8 lakh people, among them about 14.5 lakh (50%) are male and about 14.3 lakh (50%) are female. 81% of the whole population are from general caste, 16% are from schedule caste and 3% are schedule tribes.
