Srikakulam District, with population of about 27 lakh is Andhra Pradesh's the 2nd least populous district, located in the state Andhra Pradesh in India. Total geographical area of Srikakulam district is 5837 km2 and it is the smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 463 persons per km2. There are 38 sub districts in the district, among them Srikakulam is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.2 lakh and Lakshminarsupeta is the least populous sub district with population of about 29 thousand.

There are 5 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Srikakulam Municipality and Out Growth; Srikakulam, Palasa Kasibugga, Amadalavalasa and Ichchapuram Municipalities.

The district is home to about 27 lakh people, among them about 13.4 lakh (50%) are male and about 13.6 lakh (50%) are female. 84% of the whole population are from general caste, 9% are from schedule caste and 6% are schedule tribes.
