Khammam District, with population of about 16.8 lakh is Telangana's the 6th most populous district, located in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Khammam district is about 16 thousand km2 and it is the 3rd biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 105 persons per km2. There are 29 sub districts in the district, among them Khammam (Urban) is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.1 lakh and Velairpadu is the least populous sub district with population of about 23 thousand.

There are 2 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Khammam Municipality and Out Growth; and Khammam Municipality.

The district is home to about 16.8 lakh people, among them about 8.4 lakh (50%) are male and about 8.5 lakh (50%) are female. 61% of the whole population are from general caste, 18% are from schedule caste and 21% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Khammam district is 10%, among them 51% are boys and 49% are girls.
