Nalgonda District, with population of about 34.9 lakh is Telangana's the 5th least populous district, located in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Nalgonda district is about 14 thousand km2 and it is the 4th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 245 persons per km2. There are 59 sub districts in the district, among them Nalgonda is the most populous sub district with population of about 2 lakh and M.Turkapalle is the least populous sub district with population of about 34 thousand.

There are 7 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Nalgonda, Suryapet and Miryalaguda Municipality and Out Growths Nalgonda, Suryapet, Miryalaguda and Bhongir Municipalities.

The district is home to about 34.9 lakh people, among them about 17.6 lakh (50%) are male and about 17.3 lakh (50%) are female. 70% of the whole population are from general caste, 18% are from schedule caste and 11% are schedule tribes.
