Karimnagar District, with population of about 14.5 lakh is Telangana's the 8th most populous district, located in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Karimnagar district is about 12 thousand km2 and it is the 5th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 122 persons per km2. There are 22 sub districts in the district, among them Karimnagar is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.6 lakh and Malharrao is the least populous sub district with population of about 25 thousand.

There are 3 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Karimnagar Municipal Corporation and Out Growth; Karimnagar Municipal Corporation; and Ramagundam Municipality and Out Growth.
