Adilabad District, with population of about 27.4 lakh is Telangana's the 2nd least populous district, located in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Adilabad district is about 16 thousand km2 and it is the 2nd biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 170 persons per km2. There are 52 sub districts in the district, among them Adilabad is the most populous sub district with population of about 2 lakh and Vemanpalle is the least populous sub district with population of about 20 thousand.

There are 8 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Adilabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Kagaznagar and Bellampalle Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous) and Mancherial Municipality and Out Growth.
