Adilabad District, with population of about 7.1 lakh is Telangana's the 11th least populous district, located in the state Telangana in India. Total geographical area of Adilabad district is about 16 thousand km2 and it is the 2nd biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 44 persons per km2. There are 13 sub districts in the district, among them Adilabad is the most populous sub district with population of about 2 lakh and Bazarhathnoor is the least populous sub district with population of about 29 thousand.

The district is home to about 7.1 lakh people, among them about 3.6 lakh (50%) are male and about 3.5 lakh (50%) are female. 54% of the whole population are from general caste, 14% are from schedule caste and 32% are schedule tribes.
