Raigarh District, with population of about 26.3 lakh is Maharashtra's the 17th most populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Raigarh district is 7152 km2 and it is the 12th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 368 persons per km2. There are 15 sub districts in the district, among them Panvel is the most populous sub district with population of about 7.5 lakh and Tala is the least populous sub district with population of about 41 thousand.

There are 11 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Panvel, Khopoli, Pen, Uran and Karjat Municipal Councils (limited to 5 most populous).

The district is home to about 26.3 lakh people, among them about 13.4 lakh (51%) are male and about 12.9 lakh (49%) are female. 83% of the whole population are from general caste, 5% are from schedule caste and 12% are schedule tribes.
