Nanded District, with population of about 33.6 lakh is Maharashtra's the 11th most populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Nanded district is about 11 thousand km2 and it is the 11th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 319 persons per km2. There are 16 sub districts in the district, among them Nanded is the most populous sub district with population of about 7.2 lakh and Dharmabad is the least populous sub district with population of about 97 thousand.

There are 13 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Nanded Waghala Municipal Corporation; Deglur, Dharmabad, Bhokar, Kinwat and Mukhed Municipal Councils (limited to 5 most populous).

The district is home to about 33.6 lakh people, among them about 17.3 lakh (51%) are male and about 16.3 lakh (49%) are female. 73% of the whole population are from general caste, 19% are from schedule caste and 8% are schedule tribes.
