Gadchiroli District, with population of about 10.7 lakh is Maharashtra's the 2nd least populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Gadchiroli district is about 14 thousand km2 and it is the 5th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 74 persons per km2. There are 12 sub districts in the district, among them Chamorshi is the most populous sub district with population of about 1.8 lakh and Bhamragad is the least populous sub district with population of about 36 thousand.

There are 2 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Gadchiroli and Desaiganj Municipal Councils.

The district is home to about 10.7 lakh people, among them about 5.4 lakh (50%) are male and about 5.3 lakh (50%) are female. 50% of the whole population are from general caste, 11% are from schedule caste and 39% are schedule tribes.
