Wardha District, with population of about 13 lakh is Maharashtra's the 6th least populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Wardha district is 6309 km2 and it is the 11th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 206 persons per km2. There are 8 sub districts in the district, among them Wardha is the most populous sub district with population of about 3.6 lakh and Ashti is the least populous sub district with population of about 76 thousand.

There are 6 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Wardha, Hinganghat, Arvi, Pulgaon and Deoli Municipal Councils (limited to 5 most populous).

The district is home to about 13 lakh people, among them about 6.7 lakh (51%) are male and about 6.3 lakh (49%) are female. 74% of the whole population are from general caste, 15% are from schedule caste and 11% are schedule tribes.
