Jalgaon District, with population of about 42.3 lakh is Maharashtra's the 8th most populous district, located in the state Maharashtra in India. Total geographical area of Jalgaon district is about 12 thousand km2 and it is the 8th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 360 persons per km2. There are 15 sub districts in the district, among them Jalgaon is the most populous sub district with population of about 6.8 lakh and Bodvad is the least populous sub district with population of about 92 thousand.

There are 15 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Jalgaon Municipal Corporation; Bhusawal, Chalisgaon, Amalner, Chopda and Pachora Municipal Councils (limited to 5 most populous).
