Valsad District, with population of about 17.1 lakh is Gujarat's the 10th least populous district, located in the state Gujarat in India. Total geographical area of Valsad district is 3008 km2 and it is the 6th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 567 persons per km2. There are 5 sub districts in the district, among them Pardi is the most populous sub district with population of about 5.2 lakh and Dharampur is the least populous sub district with population of about 2.2 lakh.

There are 6 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Vapi, Valsad, Pardi, Umbergaon and Dharampur Municipalities and Valsad Municipality and Out Growth.

Demographics

The district is home to about 17.1 lakh people, among them about 8.9 lakh (52%) are male and about 8.2 lakh (48%) are female. 45% of the whole population are from general caste, 2% are from schedule caste and 53% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Valsad district is 13%, among them 52% are boys and 48% are girls.
