Total geographical area of Anand district is 3204 km2 and it is the 8th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 653 persons per km2. There are 8 sub districts in the district, among them Anand is the most populous sub district with population of about 6.1 lakh and Tarapur is the least populous sub district with population of about 89 thousand.
