Rajkot District, with population of about 38 lakh is Gujarat's the 4th most populous district, located in the state Gujarat in India. Total geographical area of Rajkot district is about 11 thousand km2 and it is the 3rd biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 340 persons per km2. There are 14 sub districts in the district, among them Rajkot is the most populous sub district with population of about 15.3 lakh and Lodhika is the least populous sub district with population of about 57 thousand.

There are 12 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Rajkot Municipal Corporation and Out Growth; Rajkot Municipal Corporation; Morvi Municipality and Out Growth; Morvi, Jetpur Navagadh, Gondal, Dhoraji and Upleta Municipalities (limited to 5 most populous).

Demographics

The district is home to about 38 lakh people, among them about 19.7 lakh (52%) are male and about 18.3 lakh (48%) are female. 92% of the whole population are from general caste, 8% are from schedule caste and 1% are schedule tribes. Child (aged under 6 years) population of Rajkot district is 12%, among them 54% are boys and 46% are girls.
