Total geographical area of Mahesana district is 4401 km2 and it is the 11th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 462 persons per km2. There are 9 sub districts in the district, among them Mahesana is the most populous sub district with population of about 5.3 lakh and Satlasana is the least populous sub district with population of about 90 thousand.
