Patan District, with population of about 13.4 lakh is Gujarat's the 6th least populous district, located in the state Gujarat in India. Total geographical area of Patan district is 5792 km2 and it is the 14th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 232 persons per km2. There are 7 sub districts in the district, among them Patan is the most populous sub district with population of about 4.5 lakh and Harij is the least populous sub district with population of about 95 thousand.

There are 7 cities in the district which comes under the district administration, those are - Patan and Sidhpur Municipality and Out Growths Patan, Sidhpur, Radhanpur, Harij and Chanasma Municipalities.
