Mahasamund District, with population of about 10.3 lakh is Chhattisgarh's the 9th least populous district, located in the state Chhattisgarh in India. Total geographical area of Mahasamund district is 4790 km2 and it is the 5th smallest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 216 persons per km2. There are 5 sub districts in the district, among them Mahasamund is the most populous sub district with population of about 2.6 lakh and Basna is the least populous sub district with population of about 1.8 lakh.
