Malkangiri District, with population of about 6.1 lakh is Odisha's the 7th least populous district, located in the state Odisha in India. Total geographical area of Malkangiri district is 5791 km2 and it is the 13th biggest district by area in the state. Population density of the district is 106 persons per km2. There are 11 sub districts in the district, among them Malkangiri is the most populous sub district with population of about 1.8 lakh and Jodamba is the least populous sub district with population of about 15 thousand.
